The site is situated in the Westhavelland Nature Park and is perfect for stargazers and bird lovers. Situated on the banks of the Gülper Havel, the bivouac site is limited to four tents and one overnight stay and offers a bathing area, barbecue area, seating and a simple toilet. (Alternative sites are available at the sports field in the village)

There are information panels on site to draw attention to the special features of the natural environment in the Westhavelland region. But the special feature of this site is that it offers a clear view of the starry sky. Gülpe forms part of Westhavelland Star Park and on the campsite, amateur astronomers can view the night sky without being disturbed by artificial light. Guests are allowed to set up telescopes.

Meanwhile, ornithologists will find varied bird life at the nearby lake, Gülper See. This lake is an important resting place for waterfowl: geese and cranes are often seen here, and numerous endangered breeding birds such as the bittern can be observed here, too.
