The permanent exhibition “History of the local fire brigade of Nahmitz” is located in the old fire engine house right in the centre of the village district, next to the village church and the old school (now a doctor’s office). • 1821 establishment of a fire fighting group (there is written documentation kept in the sphere of the village church’s weather vane)
  • 1933 establishment of the volunteer fire brigade. Under the national socialist regime, twelve fire brigades were established in the former administrative district of Brandenburg in 1933/1934. The Nahmitz fire brigade was among these.
  • 1945 destruction of the equipment house with the motor-powered pump trailer in the war, making the fire brigade unable to work
  • 1946/47 the district administration arranges for the building to be restored to its current state including new equipment
  • 1973 construction of a new equipment house with room for two vehicles
  • 1977 the first fire engine Robur LO 2500 (a converted army vehicle) is added
  • 1992 a fire brigade association is established
  • 1993 the equipment building from 1973 is demolished and a new one is built with funding from the State of Brandenburg. Vehicle fleet: one Robur LO 3000 fire engine with a portable pump trailer and one water tender by Mercedes Benz (2nd hand), boat trailer with an inflatable boat.
