Plauer Bürgerverein civic association put the exhibition together under the motto “Fishing through the ages”. Among other things, the exhibition shows the tradition of this craft in the town of Brandenburg an der Havel and especially in Plaue. As "Reppen" (ropes), "Seleken" (lines) and "Große Garn" (drag net) are already well known from the Middle Ages, it can be assumed that many of the devices exhibited represent the history of fishing. To this extent, the exhibition not only documents the past but also something of present day fishing in Plaue with the large fish basket in the middle of the room.
