From Forst (L.) the route leads through several small villages to Döbern. In Döbern, the two most important industrial branches in the region have been linked together: lignite and glass. The 18-metre-high glass pyramid in Döbern symbolises tradition. Glass has been produced here since 1867. From Döbern you cycle on secluded cycle paths through the landscape of the Muskau Bend to Bohsdorf. Here you can visit the Erwin Strittmatter Memorial Site, the original location for Strittmatter’s family trilogy “The Shop”, in a shop true to the original from the 1920s.
