Follow the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path to get to the village district of Groß Breesen. Turn right here and follow the course of the River Neiße until you reach Ratzdorf. The path goes through idyllic floodplains along the Neiße Dam. The village of Ratzdorf is a former sailing village at the estuary of the River Neiße into the River Oder. Depending on the water level, during high season it is possible to go on trips by passenger ship on the River Oder. The water-gauge house, standing on a raised stone platform, came to be very famous during the flooding of the River Oder in 1997. The nearby village of Wellmitz has a unique cemetery, where visitors can find four legendary stone crosses, medieval penitence crosses. The path continues via Breslack to Coschen. From Coschen you can follow the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path back to Guben. A quarry lake in the village district of Bresinchen is a perfect spot to relax and go for a swim before you reach the town of Guben again.
