The loop lets you experience the changing landscape in a time-lapse from the operational surface mine to the rugged shores of the future lakes and the new town harbour in Senftenberg. The landscape transformation is most evident at the starting point of the bicycle tour on the shore of the decommissioned Meuro surface mine and future Lake Großräschener See. The tour takes you past the operational Welzow-Süd surface mine with its large-scale equipment, via future navigable canals to the “Rusty Nail” observation tower as far as Lake Senftenberger See.
