Loving liqueur factories, an impressive wine culture landscape, fragrant coffee roasting and delicate pottery: get to know the former Lusatian lignite mining region in a special way on the 43 km long route of the GenussHandwerker. Immerse yourself in the world of regional craftsmanship and discover artistic creations and handmade products that reflect the region's artisan heritage. Taste and experience local craft products: The small stores along the cycle route invite you to browse, join in and shop, while cafés and restaurants serve traditional Lusatian cuisine specialties.

Course: Altdöbern, Sedlitz, Senftenberg, Großräschen, Altdöbern

Route condition: mainly asphalted cycle paths, a few sections on side roads or firm, gravel paths, mainly flat, some sections hilly (Altdöbern lake, Großräschen lake)

The “Schauwerk” in Altdöbern shows the diversity and topicality of the bakery trade. Baked goods are made and sold here on site. The best thing is that you can watch it being made. In addition to numerous baked goods, the café is known for its delicious ice cream. Would you like to delve deeper into the art of baking yourself? Then take part in the various courses offered by the Schauwerk.

The Markt 15 coffee roastery in Senftenberg demonstrates coffee culture in action. Roasting, packaging and sales - all from a single source. Let us advise you and take a very special vacation memory home with you to your breakfast table. 

The “hot yellow” egg liqueur from Senftenberg is a real export hit in the region. From classic to chocolate, strawberry and gingerbread flavors, there is sure to be something for every egg liqueur lover. You can taste and buy at the factory shop and café on site. Tours of the production facilities are available for groups of 10 or more by prior arrangement.

Tip: It is worth stopping at the numerous viewpoints. The water landscape glistening in the sun is definitely worth a selfie as a vacation souvenir.
