Experience breathtaking landscapes and villages steeped in history on this circular route. Bomsdorf is home to a manor house with farm buildings from the early nineteenth century. The well-maintained manor park behind it is a protected landscape area with ponds and a magnificent old tree population. The manor’s last owners are also buried here. The church, expanded in 1730, features Baroque interior furnishings. From here you can head to the Dorche Valley, one of the most popular hiking areas in the Schlaubetal Nature Park and the site of the Schwerzkoer Mühle mill. The technical monument and the current mill museum can be visited with show demonstrations. A park featuring glacial erratics has been constructed near the village of Henzendorf. Visitors can dive into the past with a path of different scripts, Germanic runes, Celtic and Hittite stone images and sculptures. The houses in the village of Reicherskreuz were built using glacial erratics, and the village is now under monument protection. The Reicherskreuzer Heide moor, formerly a military training area, is a 30-square-kilometre nature reserve, filled with yellow Scotch brooms in May and a sea of purple heather in September.
