The second stage of the part of the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path that is located in Brandenburg takes cyclists from Forst in the Niederlausitz region to Eisenhüttenstadt (63 kilometres), always along the Neiße river. Behind Guben, in Ratzdorf, you reach the confluence of Oder and Neiße. The tour’s cultural highlight is the baroque miracle of Neuzelle monastery, which is located only a few kilometres away from the Oder dyke, towering above the Oder floodplain.

How to get there: Take the RE2 from Berlin central station to Cottbus. From here take the RB46 to Forst (about 2.5 hours).

Return journey: From Eisenhüttenstadt, take the RE1 (Brandenburg) to Berlin central station (about 1.5 hours).

Route: Forst (Lausitz), Sacro, Briesnig, Grießen, Albertinenaue, Groß Gastrose, Klein Gastrose, Guben, Groß Breesen, Coschen, Ratzdorf, Eisenhüttenstadt

Information about construction work between Ratzdorf and Eisenhüttenstadt

From June 23, 2017 construction work on the dyke means there is a detour along the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path. 

Coming from Ratzdorf, this takes you via Neuzelle to Eisenhüttenstadt to the Fürstenberg district. Once you are there, you can continue along the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path.

The diversion is signposted. The construction work is estimated to be completed at the end of 2020.
