On the second stage of the Lakeland Route, you cycle from Spremberg to Boxberg/O.L. OT Uhyst. The cycle path leads along the Spree and around lake Bärwalde. Once you arrive at lake Bärwalde, you can take advantage of the numerous water sports on offer or relax on the beach. A visit to the amphitheatre is also recommended. There you will find a landscape design of an ear modelled from earth masses.

A detour from Boxberg/O.L. to the boulder park in Nochten is worthwhile as well.

From Boxberg/O.L. you cycle for a while on the lake circuit of Bärwalder See to Uhyst.

Route: Spremberg, Spreewitz, Neustadt, Boxberg/O.L., Uhyst

Worth seeing / knowing:
  • Spremberg: castle with Lower Lusatian Heath Museum.
  • Sprey: Scrap wood church
  • Nochten erratic block park (side trip)
  • Ear" landscaping with Boxberg/O.L. theatre
  • Bärwalder See - Klitten harbour with lighthouse and floating houses
  • Uhyst: safari game reserve

Possible combinations:

  • Prince Pückler Cycle Route
  • Spree Cycle Route
  • Lower Lusatian Mining Route
  • On the trail of Strittmatter
  • In the Realm of the Sea Eagle
  • Cycle route around Lake Bärwalde

Route conditions / route layout: The tour is mainly on asphalt cycle paths, with a few short sections on minor roads or unpaved paths.
