The church was built in 1927. It was built on the site of a half-timbered church with a detached 18th century bell tower. A few remarkable items from the older church remain:

A silver chalice with gold plating, 21 centimetres tall, from 1721

A tin chalice, 18 centimetres tall, from 1748

A wooden baptismal stand that was fitted with a new holder

A tin baptising dish, 29.5 centimetres in diameter, from 1748

A pair of tin candelabra, 49 centimetres tall, from 1744

Wooden altar crucifix with gold-plated corpus, from the 18th century Organ from the second half of the 18th century, framed with latticework and garlands. It is believed to have come to Mulknitz from Moscow.

In the tower cupola there is a small memorial plate for Paul Heydens (deceased in 1712) that is painted behind glass and has a folkloric appearance.
