The Großteich pond is located in the River Neiße wetlands between Groß and Klein Bademeusel at the edge of a large area of woodland. Access is from the highway at the southern end of the lake. A path leads along the western, very straight and open shoreline. There are numerous places to sit along this section of the shore. The rest of the shoreline is dominated by reed beds.
