Lake Geierswalder See is located at the very heart of the network of lakes to be connected in future. For the time being, fishing is only possible for members of the State Association of Saxon Anglers e.V. and the State Association of Brandenburg Anglers e.V. Fishing is permitted throughout the year (observe special regulations!) both from the shore and from a boat, and parking is permitted on site at the public parking facilities.

Special regulations:
  • Fishing is only permitted if the angler carries a permit authorising fishing on Lake Geierswalder See (D07-170)
  • The minimum size of pike and zander is 60 centimetres.
  • Hybrid sturgeon, black bullhead and sunfish fish species must be caught and used.
  • An angler’s catch log book/permit to fish from the State Association of Saxon Anglers e.V. is required to fish. (Purchase via the AVE, AVL and AVS regional associations - green book or the State Association of Brandenburg Anglers e.V. as an exchange card -blue book-)
  • Angling is prohibited from landing stages.
  • Refer to information signs for restricted areas which may not be accessed (see map).

Between April 1 and October 31 in any year, angling is prohibited in bathing areas and water ski zones.

Sale of fishing permits:
  • At the moment, regrettably guest fishing permits are not for sale. This should be possible from 2021.
