The Town Park was created in 1972 through the voluntary efforts of over 1000 citizens of the then Wilhelm-Pieck-Town Guben. The Lily Pond, excavated at the Black Stream, is now known as the Town Park Pond, and is populated by water birds. Walking through the park, one can discover the 11 stone sculptures, which were a gift to the town of Guben on the occasion of the World Day of Peace 1985.
