The Egelneisse stream, which crosses the strolling and shopping mall Frankfurter Strasse, was turned into a natural watercourse through ecological renaturation. Along the course of the stream, a new boardwalk with a seating terrace and a ‘green classroom’ were built at the Primary School ‘Friedensschule’. This green place in the middle of the town invites you to linger and relax from the stress of everyday life. One of the most frequented long-distance cycling routes, the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, leads along the Egelneisse stream through the town, past the post milestone where you can read the distances to the neighbouring towns and villages on the old postal routes.
