The Central Park with its citizens' meadow stretches along the Lausitz Center. It is one of the largest parks in the city and was opened in 2011. It offers its guests many seating options and looks very modern with its design and water elements. A sculpture was erected there in honor of the German writer Brigitte Reimann, who lived in Hoyerswerda for a while. Near the park there are also the Lausitzhalle, the Lausitzer Platz and the Lausitztower, where you can enjoy an excellent view over the city and the surrounding area in good weather.
