The first documentary reference to the brewery building is from 1760, under the name Gut Lombardei. Around 1870, it developed into the castle brewery “Schlossbrauerei Drebkau”. Andreas and Thomas Kircher took over the old family business in 1992. They continue the brewery tradition, brewing “Kircher Pils” and “Kircher Dunkel” beer using their grandfather Anton Kircher’s original recipe and modern brewery equipment. “Kirchers Gurken Radler” is a global novelty: a mixed beer drink with the typical flavour of Spreewald gherkins. The beer is served alongside savoury food, such as beer bread and “Böttcherstulle” sandwiches or master brewers’ schnitzels. Guests can enjoy the rustic atmosphere across three storeys and on fair days the brewery terrace on the first floor is also open. The brewery is also available as a venue for family celebrations, such as weddings, birthday parties, company anniversaries and Christmas parties. Many memorable events are held at the brewery, such as live concerts, morning concerts, dancing and barbecue nights, witches’ dances or summer night parties.
