In 2013, the historic mill “Dörrwalder Mühle” was converted into a themed restaurant that is characterised by great attention to detail and many new ideas. The operators are typical career changers who have made their dream of a cosy guest house and their own restaurant in a stunning historic setting come true.

The Dutch wind mill in Dörrwalde was built in 1845 and it is a landmark of the Lusatian Lake District. The tower mill that is a rarity in the Niederlausitz region stretches its larch wood sails towards the sky, attracting visitors, such as cyclists riding along the five regional cycle paths, to stop in Dörrwalde and experience a bit of milling history. 

At the mill restaurant with its cosy accessible conservatory, guests can enjoy the best the region has to offer. Enjoy our creative regional cooking. The seasonal menu comprises freshly prepared, top quality dishes. Everything is made from fresh produce, so preparation may take a little while.

The accessible mill silo is a one-of-a-kind location for festivities and conferences. Three guest rooms and the mill suite are perfect for relaxing stays of any length.

Extras: Tours of the mill are possible subject to pre-booking, diverse range of events with multi-course meals, including concerts, readings and comedy shows.
