The impressive landscape of the German-Polish Geopark was formed by Ice Age glaciers that have left behind a horse shoe-shaped push moraine known as the “Muskauer Faltenbogen”. Lignite mining started early in the area. The former mining area has meanwhile evolved into an attractive post-mining landscape.

The nature and landscape guide Jürgen Siegemund offers guided bicycle tours in the unique Geopark. On his guided walks, visitors will see landscapes formed in the Ice Age and learn about the typical post-mining landscape that formed as a result.

The following tours are available:
  • Tour 1 – Neiße valley tour to Zelz/Siedlec, to the Teufelsstein, to Kamenica and back via Żarki Wielkie to Park Mużakowski
  • Tour 2 – Saxony mining tour - former pits around Weißwasser
  • Tour 3 – Forest reserve “Am Mühlbach” with Kutschigmühle, former “Babina” mine and Park Mużakowski


The tours take place between April and October.

Booking: One week in advance, prior arrangement is necessary.

Duration of the tour: About four hours.
