The bathing lake “Badesee Eichwege” is located south of the town Döbern in the Spree-Neiße district. It was formed through former small-scale lignite mining operations in the Lausitz region. Badesee Eichwege is located next to the country road B115. It is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark Muskauer Faltenbogen. For more than 30 years now, the bathing lake has been popular among relaxation seekers. The lake is about 0.16 kilometres wide, about 0.42 kilometres long and has a size of about 0.05 square kilometres.
A beach volleyball tournament takes place every year in July, and the Neptune festival is held in August. On the lakeshore there is a bathing area with fine sand, a playground for children and a kiosk. Bathroom facilities are also provided on site. The lake is also a popular fishing spot.
