The “Meurostolln” observation tower was constructed in 2003 on the grounds of a former briquette factory. 144 steps lead up to the 27-metre-high viewing platform. The tower stands on an elevation and provides a view of the surrounding landscape, in particular the Lausitzring, the bucket wheel excavator landmark, the Meuro solar park, the Klettwitz wind park, and Senftenberg with its lake. On especially clear days it is possible to see the power stations in Schwarze Pumpe and Boxberg.
