Senftenberg is a town in the south-east of Brandenburg at the heart of the Lusatian Lake District and a state-approved resort. Lake Senftenberger See has been a popular bathing lake for many years, and with its tourist infrastructure offers good conditions for a relaxing and varied holiday. In the immediate vicinity of the fortress with its castle and the zoo is the town harbour – very much its anchor point. Here amateur boaters can sail on Lake Senftenberger See and through the Koschen Canal into neighbouring Lake Geierswalder See. A theatre, an adventure pool, various cycle paths and town walks as well as numerous other offers are available for guests and visitors.
