The Sedlitzer See Nature Information Center is a popular destination for cyclists and nature lovers in the Lusatian Lake District. Spread across a site of approximately 3,500 square meters, it provides information on the region’s transformation from a mining area to a lake district and offers a shaded rest area for picnics and breaks. At interactive environmental stations, visitors can learn about the Sorno-Rosendorfer-Buchten Nature Reserve.

The Floating Pier extends 160 meters into Lake Sedlitz. Built on eight floating concrete elements, it’s ideal for a stroll over the water. The pier also features boat docks, allowing visitors to reach this tranquil information point from the water as well.

Accessibility:

The information point and the floating pier are located on the lakeside trail around Lake Sedlitz, running from Kleinkoschen toward Lieske, and can only be reached by bike or on foot. Directly at the junction with the Barbara Canal or the road to Geierswalde, just a few hundred meters past the Lausitzer Seenland landmark (Rusty Nail), a signposted paved road branches off to the left toward the site. The area is freely accessible at all times.
