Afterwards you can use your ticket to go on an interactive trip back in time in the castle, which is located in the zoo’s grounds. “ErlebnisReich” brings history and stories to life with interactive stations and a miniature castle. The state-of-the-art “LehrReich” features a time lapse from the Second World War up to the modern-day Lusatian Lake District.

Hoyerswerda Zoo provides school-oriented tours on a range of topics, providing school- and nursery children with fascinating and often surprising insights into the world of our zoo animals, as well as day-to-day life at the zoo, and the role that zoos play in protecting the environment and endangered species.
