New Garden is situated below Pfingstberg between the lakes Heiliger See and the Jungfernsee. There are several architectural gems to admire here: the Marble House, the Orangery, the Dutch outhouses, the Schindelhaus and the Gotische Bibliothek. In the New Garden there is also another important building steeped in history: Cecilienhof Country House. It was here that the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945.

The 102-hectare park was laid out in 1787 by gardener Johann August Eyserbeck by order of Frederick William II. The New Garden gradually became overgrown, but in the years from 1816 to 1828 under the new heir to the throne, Peter Joseph Lenné redesigned it to create an open landscape. Lenné’s basic structure can still be recognized today. The park is very spacious and offers views of neighbouring parks as well as the lakes Heiliger See and Tiefer See.
