With the Shakespeare-spectacular "The Queen's Men" the first Potsdam lake stage was opened next to the Hans-Otto-Theater in 2019. The platform was already completed with the theater construction in 2006. But the originally planned inauguration in June 2007 for the opening season finale with Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" was cancelled. The stage itself consists of three bars each two meters deep and 14.5 meters wide, posing as waves up to 1.70 meters high. The architect cites the shape and color of the curved concrete ring of the Theaterhaus with the bars in muted bordeaux red. On the terraces of the theater and purpose-built podiums 300 spectators are seated.
