In the middle of the Schiffbauergasse lies the "Sturmvogel", a disused barge dating from 1942. Since 1992 it has been used as a cultural event location. The program includes concerts, theatre and dance performances, parties, musical and literary events. Theatre, however, takes centre stage: both classical and experimental plays are performed and renowned directors and performers take turns with young artists.

Since 2016, the still navigable "Theatre Ship" has been a registered industrial monument of the state of Brandenburg. It offers 89 seats and 120 standing room in the theatre hall in the ship's belly and 40 seats on the summer upper deck.
