Established in 1912, Studio Babelsberg is the world’s oldest large-scale film studio and thus also the birthplace of German film. The range of films shot there reflects the importance of the studios. Stars, including Kate Winslet, Tom Hanks and George Clooney, as well as well-known directors, such as Alfred Hitchcock, Tom Tykwer and Roland Emmerich, have all worked here.

With a unique status in Germany, the studio offers all stages and areas of film production on one site. The studios offer outstanding facilities covering 173,000 square metres, with 21 state-of-the-art workshops and studios, various backlots and outdoor backdrops. The internationally experienced Studio Babelsberg Motion Picture crews and first-class scenery builders and production designers are among the best in the world.
