The international Elbe Cycle Route is Germany's most popular long-distance cycle route. The Brandenburg section runs mainly along the dyke here in Prignitz. The UNESCO Elbe-Brandenburg River Landscape Biosphere Reserve stretches between Havelberg and Dömitz along the unspoilt river with its unique natural areas. Wonderful nature observations, vastness and tranquillity characterise this tour.

In spring and summer, storks fill the skies, especially in Rühstädt, namend  “European Stork Village,”where they nest and clatter energetically. The path leads past dreamy villages with thatched houses. The trail winds past picturesque villages with charming thatched-roof houses, inviting walkers and cyclists to pause and enjoy the serene countryside.

Recommended start: Glöwen

Recommended finish: Boitzenburg/Elbe

Getting there: RE2 to Glöwen

Total length: 164 km, approx 90 km in the Prignitz

Attractions:
