In Rühstädt, it’s all about the stork. Even the castle, which is the second major attraction, pays tribute to it, with its striking water tower. So it’s no surprise that Rühstädt is the German champion when it comes to storks and is one of the few official stork villages in the whole of Europe. You can see for yourself what people and the natural world are able to offer the storks here. Just count the stork nests that you can see from the balcony! You should also make a detour to the NABU (German environmental organisation) visitor centre.
