The Elbe Tour passes idyllic villages and through historic town centres. The Havelberg to Gnevsdorf section passes along the River Havel Vorfluter receiving water course, which is also a state waterway (also known as the Gnevsdorf Vorfluter receiving water course).

How to get there:
  • Public transport: Take the RE2 (rapid transit train) (Wittenberge) from Berlin Zoologischer Garten to Glöwen. From here take bus 900 to Havelberg (about 1.5 hours).
  • Car: From Berlin, take the motorways A114, A10, A24, B167 and B102 to Havelberg (about 2 hours).


Route: Havelberg, Quitzöbel, Abbendorf, Gnevsdorf, Rühstädt, Hinzdorf, Wittenberge, Cumlosen, Lütkenwisch, Lenzen, Mödlich, Unbesandten, Dömitz (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)

Nautical information: There are no restrictions about when this section can be canoed. You should always head downstream due to the strong flow of the river.
