Art, education and a whole lot of Fontane: a small historic centre in Ganzer, the village of two hundred souls, has actually survived the changing times since Theodor Fontane's visit in 1861. It consists of the ruins of the church, the old village school and Gut Ganzer estate as well as some architectural surprises.

You can attend organised exhibitions at the barn studio of artist Katrin Mason Brown on the estate or visit by appointment. Art workshops for children are held here several times a week – and there is a youth art academy at Gusthof Ganzer estate. The academy was awarded the 2018 Federal Prize for Art Schools for its work.

The Fontane Walk is very popular, a scenic narratory on the historic buildings that describe Fontane's walks through the Mark Brandenburg region. The walk is popular during the Fontane-Festspiele festival and with specialist travel agencies. It is best for travel groups also wanting coffee and home-made cake or a buffet in the evening to make a booking on the estate website.
