This picture frame path is a joint project by the monastery of Stift zum Heiligengrabe, the municipality of Heiligengrabe and the Brandenburg Forest Agency, represented by the Oberförsterei Neustadt (Dosse).

Along the "Red Bridge" nature trail, 20 picture frames made of rapeseed-yellow oak squared timber are installed, which direct the visitors' gaze into a forest window, on themes from the forest floor to the treetops. A high-quality explanatory panel is provided with each picture frame. The picture frame invites you to look through it and gain surprising insights into the entire spectrum of multifunctional forestry. The viewer is made aware of many facets of sustainability.

Sustainability - a term that is difficult to explain - whose cradle is in the forest, is made visible and tangible. These forest pictures tell of the work of our forestry ancestors through the picture frames "Multi-generation forest" and "Plough stripes". They talk about our own skills with the picture frames “Tree of the Future” and “Back Lane”. They show the forest as an economic area, but also as a natural area with the picture frames “Waldbach” and “Totholz” and as a recreational and educational area with the picture frames “Fitness Arena” and “Schulwald”. It can be seen how the foresters of many generations, when Guardians of the forest who meet the growing, sometimes competing demands of society on the forest in the best possible way. It is shown how the picture frame “beech substructure” is used to react to the challenges of the next 300 years, e.g. climate change. This picture frame path is aimed at people with a conscious lifestyle. It is aimed at people of all ages who are actively involved in shaping the economy and society, but above all at the doers of tomorrow – the younger generation. This picture frame path is unique, it is open all year round, not always barrier-free but close to nature and there are enough free parking spaces.
