You cannot miss the building that stands at No. 4 Großer Markt. It was built around 1525 for a merchant and is one of the oldest preserved houses in the town. The high gable, into the diamond-shaped timber frame of which at the time valuable bricks were incorporated, is testimony to the wealth of the owner, as are the 13 figures below the roof. The dimensions of the Großer Markt market square make it clear that it once witnessed a more vibrant market life than can be seen at today’s weekly market, held here every Thursday. The "Sanur-Hansen Market" is held in March and the Potato Market at the start of October. The largest Christmas market in the Prignitz region is held here in the 3rd week of December.
