Idyllically situated and a real gem for families, nature lovers and anyone interested in history: the Ev. Stift Marienfließ Monastery, the oldest Cistercian monastery in the Prignitz region. Built in 1231 by Johann Gans zu Putlitz, serene nuns lived here over the centuries. The Marienfließ Stiftskirche Church tells of past times, the coats of arms and epitaphs of all the noble families of the Prignitz bringing to life the history of the region.

The extensive grounds of the monastery are perfect for a leisurely walk or relaxing sojourn. And if you would like to be entertained historically, a guided tour is available on request describing the history of the monastery and its grounds. It introduces (not always totally) strict convent life to the young and old. Today, visitors can even stay in the hotel in the monastery sleeping where Conventual women once slept.
