Why doesn't the Wahrenberger Chaussee actually lead to Wahrenberg, some people may ask. But as soon as you see the flat sandy beach and cool your feet in the fresh Elbe water when the weather is nice, this not entirely unfounded question fades into the background for the time being. Since the construction of the Elbe bridge near Wittenberge in 1979, there has been no ferry service here. Before that, people were transported to the other side of the Elbe by rowing or punting. The stories of this place are preserved at this stop.
