Some people may wonder why the Wahrenberger Chaussee does not actually lead to Wahrenberg. But as soon as you see the flat sandy beach/bathing area and dip your feet in the fresh water of the River Elbe on a warm day, you will forget about this not entirely unfounded question for the time being. Ever since the Elbe Bridge near Wittenberge was built in 1979, there has no longer been a ferry service from the old Fähranleger Wahrenberg ferry dock. Before that, people either rowed or punted across the River Elbe to get to the other side. The history of the place continues to live on at this nature stop.
