Today, the restored mansion houses a museum dedicated to the history and the lifestyle of Prussian landed gentry, especially the family Gans Edle Herren zu Putlitz. The museum has many authentic exhibits (family portraits, engravings, glass, porcelain, furniture, handicrafts) and, on the upper floor, the largest European collection of underglaze blue painted porcelain, the v. Barsewisch collection with utility tableware dating back four centuries. In the basement there is a replica GDR classroom, reminding visitors of the use of the mansion as a school from 1952 to 1998, a manor kitchen, an Erzgebirge-styled toy farm, and a textile exhibition. This exhibits fine table ware, lace, ribbons, bonnets, beadings and a rare cape of downy feather.

Civil wedding ceremonies and concerts are possible in the beautiful garden room, and church ceremonies and baptisms are held in the chapel. The historic rooms can be hired for private parties and celebrations. Museum visitors can also always buy coffee and home-made cakes from our Castellan Mrs Härtel.

Audio guides are available.
