The heart of the area is the monastery park on the edge of the village of Stepenitz. The park on the Stepenitz River, lined with listed trees, stretches over 3.5 hectares.

Benches invite you to linger, the meadow orchard to experience nature.

The leaves of the trees reflect the sunlight with small points of light when you cross the Stepenitz on the hidden bridge behind the monastery church. Here it still flows as a small river through the park, later it flows into the Elbe near Wittenberge. As is the case for most of its course, the flora and fauna here are particularly protected by being designated as a water protection area. On the other bank of the bridge, a densely wooded and also protected natural area awaits discovery all the way to Mecklenburg.

Walk or cycle over to the Wangeliner Gardens or the Ottoquelle in the Quaßliner Moor, a European flora-fauna-habitat area that was only thoroughly researched in 2012-2014 by the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund Foundation, on the lands of the Evangelical Marienfliess Abbey.
