The Baroque building in a central location in the market square of Wusterhausen houses the Wegemuseum, a museum dedicated to historical paths, transportation and communication, as well as the library, the Galerie Alter Laden gallery and the tourist information centre. The building is a much-visited cultural, educational and meeting place for the region and its guests.

As well as providing information, books and maps about the municipality and the region, the tourist information centre also offers services such as booking museum tours, historic guided tours and church tours in St. Peter and Paul Church, event tips, ticket sales for events in the museum, library and municipality as well as the sale of souvenirs, cycling maps and literature. 

The Galerie Alter Laden gallery hosts exhibitions, book readings, theatre performances and concerts. The idyllic, historic courtyard of the Herbst'schen Haus building regularly hosts open-air events in summer.
