Like pearls on a chain, cultural monuments line the 209 kilometre long route. The classically designed Neuruppin, birthplace of Fontane and Schinkel, Rheinsberg with its castle and park picturesquely located by Lake Grienericksee, Neuglobsow by the crystal clear Lake Stechlinsee and Zehdenick with its Cistercian monastery and – for fans of industrial culture – Ziegeleipark Mildenberg Brickworks Park are all along the route.

How to get there:
  • Train: From Berlin Friedrichstrasse, take the S25 to Hennigsdorf. From here, take the RE6 (Wittenberge) to Neuruppin (1.5 hours)
  • Car: From Berlin via the A10 and A24 to Fehrbellin and on to Neuruppin (about 1 hour).

Route: Neuruppin, Rheinsberg, Fürstenberg (Havel), Zehdenick, Liebenwalde, Oranienburg, Hohen Neuendorf, Hennigsdorf, Kremmen, Neuruppin

  • Rheinsberg: Castle, Park
  • Neuglosbow: Stechlinsee
  • Zehdenick: Cistercian monastery
  • Mildenberg: Ziegeleipark
