Paddling on the chain of lakes north of Neuruppin - a tour that is typical of Brandenburg's paddling paradise. The alternation between lakes and rivers and the seemingly untouched deciduous forests on the banks, broken up by idyllic bathing areas, provide the setting for a near-natural addling experience.

The tour can be done in one direction from Alt Ruppin to Hotel & Restaurant Boltenmühle. At the finish in Boltenmühle you can be picked up by the canoe rental company "Rhinpaddel" (where the tour for boat renters also starts). Or, after a refreshment, you can return by boat.

Length/duration: 11 kilometres / 4 hours

Start: Alt Ruppin, Kirchplatz

          It is easier to start the tour if you enter Brückenstr. 7 as the address. A narrow path leads from here to the entry                      point. The entry point itself is also very narrow.
Destination: Boltenmühle 

         
The entry and/or exit point is on the grounds of the hotel complex (use is permitted by the hotel). It is also possible to                         hire canoes directly here.

Directions:

  • by train and bus: Neuruppin railway station (RE 6) Am Rheinsberger Tor, then take the city bus line 770. Tip: There is a beautiful hiking trail (approximately 3 kilometres) through the town park along the lake to Alt Ruppin.

  • Car: From Berlin via the A111, A10 and A24 to Neuruppin Follow the B167 to Alt Ruppin (approximately 1.5 hours)

Departure:


  • by train and bus: Walk from Boltenmühle 25 min (2 km) to Binenwalde. From Binenwalde take bus 754 to Neuglienicke. Here change to bus 787 in the direction of Neuruppin Bahnhof-Reinsberger Tor. Then take the RE6 in the direction of Berlin to Hennigsdorf Bahnhof. In Hennigsdorf, take the S-Bahn 25 in the direction of Teltow Stadt. After about 26 min. travel time you will reach Berlin-Gesundbrunnen.

  • Car: Follow the L16 and B167 in the direction of Neuruppin and then Dabergotz. At Dabergotz take the A24 freeway in the direction of Berlin. At the Havelland interchange, take the A10 in the direction of the Oranienburg interchange. Change here to the A111 and enter Berlin.

Route: Rhin, Lake Molchowsee, (River Café Molchow,) Lake Tetzensee, Lake Zermützelsee, (forest museum and tavern Stendenitz,) Rottstielfließ riverway, Lake Tornowsee, Boltenmühle

Nautical information: There is also a boat launch at the Alt Ruppin lock.
