The lofty tower of the town church built of light-coloured brick is a real eye-catcher in Fürstenberg/Havel. The striking building can be seen high above the rooftops. After the previous church burned down in 1807, the current one was built on the site. It was designed by Schinkel student Friedrich-Wilhelm Buttel and completed in 1848 in the Italian rounded-arch style.

The impressive interior is characterised by dark wood and bright walls. The cassettes of the flat ceiling are painted with blue accents and star decorations. The gallery runs along the three sides of the church’s interior. The furnishings include a cup-shaped baptismal font in the Classical style. The batik hanging dating from 1962 bear the title “Auferstehung Christi” (The Resurrection of Christ). The organ is by the Sauer company and dates from 1956.

The church is part of the “Open Churches” initiative and is open all day from May to October and after service on Sunday. For information and enquiries about guided tours, telephone +49 33093 32535.
