The village church in Zechlinerhütte stands in an elevated position on the eastern edge of the village and is an interesting eye-catcher with its blend of neo-Romanesque forms and the once modern building material of red and yellow bricks. The small church with its graceful tower at the north-west corner is directly adjacent to the spacious cemetery with various trees. Until the church was consecrated in 1881, services were held in a small prayer room in the attic above the glassworks. A donation from Mrs. Lieutenant Riedel enabled the new church to be built.

The interior of the church is very inelaborate. The brick floor in a warm red colour harmonises with the various shades of blue in the gallery and the dome of the apse, which depicts a starlit sky. The clay baptismal font in the form of two constricted cylinders dates from 1963. In the cemetery there is the grave belonging to the Wegener family with a memorial plaque to Alfred Wegener, the well-known geoscientist and polar researcher.
