The circular hiking trail around the Katerbower Lake offers recreation close to nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The idyllic lake lies on the edge of the charming village of the same name in the Temnitz district. In the center of the village rises the prominent tower of the church built of fieldstone and brick; old farms and country houses are lined up next to each other. From here, the trail continues along fields and natural forest paths until it meets the overgrown lake shore on the southern bank. Especially anglers seek the silence of nature here. The clear, only about 3 meters deep Katerbower Lake belongs to the top fishing lakes in the region due to its large fish population. The circular trail around Katerbower See is part of the "Temnitzpfaden" - a series of hiking trails through the Temnitz district, which are currently being renovated.
