The circular hiking trail around the Tornowsee is probably one of the most beautiful hiking trails around Neuruppin. The hiking trail leads along mostly natural forest paths and short, little-traveled road sections through sparse beech forest, in places also coniferous forest or mixed forest forms around the idyllic forest lake. The terrain is in parts relatively steeply ascending. From the "Zanderblick" you have a wonderful view on and over the lake.

In some places springs can be discovered on the surrounding slopes. Both the Binenbach and the Kunster also flow into the Tornowsee. In the surroundings of the lake many animal and bird species have their habitat and can be discovered and observed with a little luck during the hike.

The path leads into the middle of the so-called "Ruppiner Schweiz". The hilly, elongated forest area along the Ruppiner See chain was already described by Theodor Fontane in his "Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg". At the start/end point at the "Boltenmühle" there is a parking lot, a children's playground, a donkey meadow, a bicycle and boat rental as well as a wellness house at the mill pond with sauna, steam bath and brine pool. A landing stage of the Neuruppin passenger boat service is at the Tornowsee, only a few meters away.
