Around Lake Stechlinsee, one of the most beautiful clear-water lakes in north-east Germany, there are other hiking trails that are perfect for active leisure – such as the tour from Neuglobsow along Lake Dagowsee via Dagow around Lake Peetschsee, a real “insider tip”.

Start/finish: Stechlinsee-Center Neuglobsow

Directions:
  • Public transport: Take the RE5 (Rostock) to Fürstenberg/Havel from Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof). From here, take bus 839 to Neuglobsow (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes).
  • Car: From Berlin, take the B96, L222 and L15 to Neuglobsow (approximately one and a half hours).

Route description:

From Neuglobsow via Dagow around Lake Peetschsee and back. In Dagow, a detour is highly recommended to the historic cemetery with the Metas Ruh burial vault described by Fontane. Further on, there is a small climb to Augustablick, which offers the first beautiful view of Lake Peetschsee. It is also a wonderful covered resting place. Then the trail goes along the shore, where you can enjoy the crystal-clear lake. At the end of the lake, there is a place to stop for a bite to eat/drink in Steinförde. The trail leads back along the north-western shore of Lake Peetschsee.
