The museum exhibits part of the ceramic legacy of Hedwig Bollhagen (who was born in Hanover on November 10, 1907 and died in Marwitz on June 8, 2001), which comprises about 1,600 ceramic objects. These primarily include unique items, but also sample pieces and individual pieces from Hedwig Bollhagen and from her artist colleagues, friends and students. This legacy was handed over to the Ofen- und Keramikmuseum Velten e.V. friends’ association for the purpose of cataloguing and publicly exhibiting her work in the Hedwig Bollhagen Museum, which was set up specifically for this purpose.
