This lock belongs to the Rheinsberg waters. It is located between Lake Kleiner Pälitzsee and Lake Großer Prebelowsee. The lock was built between 1876 and 1881 according to the Finow baysize and was replaced with a new structure in 1968. The waiting areas for the sports boats in the upper and lower water were extensively renovated in 2015. With over 35,000 passages per year, it is one of the most frequently used pleasure boat locks in Germany. This lock is a self-service lock. It is administrated by the Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office.
