A great deal of this is down to tour guide Lutz Werner, known to many as ‘Green Lutz’, ‘Old Fritz’ or the dapper gentleman in a frock coat. Above all, however, he is one thing: a passionate storyteller who knows his home town like no other.

On his guided tours, Lutz Werner takes visitors and locals on a lively journey through time in Storkow. The starting point is the Peace Oak on the market square. From there, the tour leads through the historic old town, past notable landmarks and, of course, to Storkow Castle, which today serves as a modern cultural and event venue housing exhibitions, a nature park centre, a library and a visitor information centre. With stories, anecdotes and plenty of humour, he brings bygone eras to life and shares fascinating facts about the town’s development.

It is no coincidence that storytelling comes so naturally to him: Lutz Werner grew up in Storkow. Many places in the town are linked to personal memories and fascinating stories for him. With great passion, he conveys what Storkow once was and what it is today.

In addition to the regular guided tours, a varied annual programme of talks, cycle tours and guided walks is on offer. The guided tours offer both visitors and locals a lively and informative insight into the town’s history.
